Follow me
Even though it's snowing and completely white outside my plants are still green. Today I have looked at them, done some work on my assignment and listened to Nina Simone. Oh, by the way I have added the followers app - feel free to follow me in the left side of the blog!

Muffler?
As soon as I had finished the days assignments at school I hurried home in the cold snow. Here I enjoyed a couple of warm hours in the company of my muffler (is that really the name for it?) and a cup of fennel tea. Tonight I'm going out with my man.

Darkness
The streets are lit only by cars and streetlights when I bike ride through the city to get home. The darkness gives me an appetite for horror films in the couch with a minimum of light. Recently i saw Let the right one in for the second time, and it's amazing. The suburban setting in Sweden in 1982, the melancholic music, the sounds of crisp snow mixed with a supernatural plot. It reminds me of the suburb where I was born, of cruel kids and nightmares but it also takes me back to beautiful memories of friendship, closeness and magic winters.

All You Knit Is Love
Wednesday I finished my knitted turban, and I am really pleased with the result. I wore it for a little walk in the neighborhood today where i saw a funny window arrangement. My new knitting project is a scarf - I will keep you posted on the development. By the way I stole the title for this post from the inspiring German magazine CUT.

Cool
This weekend I saw Sophia Coppola's new movie Somewhere. After having seen Lost in Translation around 20 times I really looked forward to this story about the relationship between a shallow male actor and his daughter. Unfortunately I never really felt the characters. But when it all comes down Coppola creates fantastic scenes, especially when it comes to combining music with beautiful pictures. There is one scene where the 11-year old daughter is ice skating to this song:
I had forgotten how nice the video is. Gwen Stefani is the perfect entertainer.

Hamburg Einfach So!
Last weekend I went to Hamburg to hang out with two friends I met when I studied in Sydney two years ago. It was a really nice weekend with good talks, food, walks and drinks. I was reminded of the feeling I had when I left Australia. Life is fat, free and open and you can do anything.
