An Afternoon In The Botanical Garden

The greenhouse in The Botanical Garden in Aarhus has been closed for some time - because of modernisation. Both the café and the greenhouse opened on 16th of April, even though the renewal is still in progress. On a Saturday afternoon I started with a simpel lunch in the café, and then I walked into the different climate zones, where I got drawn by the temperatures, colours, shapes and sizes of plants in each room.

In the tallest room I noticed some butterflies, and I almost stumpled, when a little boy came running with joy. His granny apologized, and said: 'Harald, you have to calm down a little...'. I went up the stairs to see the whole greenhouse from the top, and suddently Harald was there, and he couldn't find his granny. I told him, that It's a good thing too be on the top, because then he can get a view all around the garden. He saw her, and we walked down the stairs together. 'Do we know each other?' Harald asked. 'No, but now we do' I said, and again the granny smiled and tried to get a hold of Harald.

On my way out I noticed a peculiar brown toilet - next to all the white ones. A unified statement of the greenhouse - where even the toilets can give a sence of different climate zones. It makes sence when everything is used to tell a story - even the toilets...

Åh, botanisk have i Århus!

@Kristine: tak for din fine historie! ;-)
